430 Oak Grove Apartments

This project repurposed the historic Northwestern National Life Insurance building—originally built by Kraus-Anderson in 1924—into 75 upscale apartments. KA worked through the complex process of obtaining historic tax credits, including restoration and preservation of the limestone and tile exterior, skylights, windows with original hardware, bronze chandelier and lobby murals. Modern amenities include a central atrium, fitness center, club room, rooftop deck and underground heated parking.  The building is on the National Register of Historic Places.
